Best Place for Beach Wedding in New Smyrna Beach
The interesting thing about beachside New Smyrna Beach is there are actually very few restaurants right on the ocean and even less wedding venues. Sure, you can hire someone to set up a temporary ceremony area on the beach but what about a reception ? The best place for beach wedding in New Smyrna Beach is the Salty Mermaid Oceanfront Hotel.
Oh, and before we move on, we found another older picture of the hotel, used to be called Ward’s back in the 1960s, and updated our previous story about the Salty Mermaid.
Why we say this is the best place is because it gives you a lot of options. First, you can do your vows right at the water or use their private courtyard, also direct oceanfront.
Next, you can have your reception in that same private courtyard. So, if you don’t like the sand, it’s all tiled and accented with grass. And remember, it’s a hotel so you can stay there all night. No public beach is going to give you that flexibility. But it is a 5-room hotel.
They’re most likely gonna have you take all 5 rooms. You’ll have the whole place for yourself, that is kind of cool.
But no problem, if you have a larger party that wants to stay overnight, you’re walking distance to the SpringHill Suites by Marriott at Flagler Avenue.
And speaking of previous stories, the Salty Mermaid is right next door to Toni and Joe’s with their amazing breakfast.
So, all and all, you can see why we call it the best place for a wedding. They say they can handle wedding parties for up to about 50 but we noticed in some of the pictures larger weddings being held there.
Owners Lisa and John are very accommodating and know all the great hospitality people, since they live there too. They also have golf carts, e-bikes and dune buggies on site to rent.
